In March, 2017, I began working as a hostess at Bridges Restaurant, a waterfront seafood restaurant primarily frequented by tourists on Granville Island.
Every day at Bridges is a different experience as so many of our customers come from all over the world, and the staff do as well. I love being part of such a diverse and enthusiastic team.
During the summer, the restaurant would often be extremely busy, so every detail has to run smoothly, and appear effortless to customers so that they could have the most enjoyable meal. I helped maintain this appearance of calm in the chaos by working efficiently, but not rushing, and taking the time to personally greet each customer.
Through this experience I developed, and continue to improve, skills like customer service, managing multiple priorities at once, and problem solving.
I am returning to Bridges this April, with increased responsibilities.
